Kununurra Digital Farm Network
Thousands of kilometres from Perth, in the Ord River irrigation district, CipherTel built a fixed-wireless Digital Farm Network from the ground up — towers lifted in by helicopter, backhauled to our carrier network, and supported by the same team that runs the rest of WA.
A tower lift a long way from anywhere
Kununurra sits in WA's far north, anchoring the Ord River irrigation district and Lake Argyle. Getting a communications tower up there isn't a job for a truck and a crew alone — this build used a helicopter lift to get the structure into position, then our own team handled the install, alignment and commissioning.
The result is a Digital Farm Network purpose-built for the district: carrier-grade fixed wireless for the townsite, surrounding properties and the agricultural operations that depend on the Ord's irrigation scheme. It's part of the same remote town network we run for Kununurra and Carnarvon — read more about our remote town networks.
